is anyone going to be as *depressed* as I am when it's over? Sad

I'm seriously following all the episodes that have come out and it's currently on episode 22 (out of 26). So there's only 4 more episodes to explain what's going to happen in the manga (which I haven't read, by the way)...

I just have so much passion for this anime/manga. I'm going to be so incredibly sad when it ends.. like an era is over.

So how are you guys going to feel?

(and no spoilers please! ) Wink

Honestly, Inuyasha will never be over, in my opinion. As long as there are people who love the series, it will continue on. Just like anything else.

And I will be just as passionate about it 10 years from now as I am now.

I don't know why I'm still into it. Staying up late I started watching it on Adult Swim and got addicted for some reason. And now that I'm in college I see myself still trying to watch random episodes and I bought all four of the movies.

I agree, as with other interests, that Inuyasha will continue on because of the fans. And we do have lots of video to watch and manga to read.

I feel the same way.

I'm really going to miss it when it ends. I remember coming to the end with episode 167 but I was left with the faintest of hopes they may make more episodes some day to give the anime a proper finish. I somehow didn't expect the day to come but it did....

But I know after the Final Act is over, that's it! No more weekly episode to look forward to or hope that they may someday make more. I guess my hopes are now just that we'll get an HD release (okay, the chances are so incredibly slim on that front).

Meanwhile, I know I'll probably end up re-watching the anime a few times and re-reading the manga, and maybe reminiscing over the days that were and shows I love Very Happy

Who knows? Maybe they'll make a live-action movie out of Inuyasha? I don't know. They've done it for so many other shows...

Ahh.. of course the show will live on in our hearts, but there's just something about being able to see the real episodes/manga in front of our eyes. Does that make sense?

Yeah, I'm going to miss it a lot -- yup, no more new episodes to look forward to, because that's it. I'm going to be so sad...!

And I don't know if I would appreciate a live-action Inuyasha movie, that sounds kind-of odd to me... I don't know how they'd pull off the costumes/actions without looking stupid. Then again, I haven't watched many live-action stuff... but I can't really imagine it.

So we're on the 24th episode of 26. I am soooo anticipating the ending but I really don't want it to end! I am unfortunately wishing for more. Sad

The thing is that there have been SOOOO many different movies, books, video games, all sorts of things that I wished would never end.

But sometimes it just has to, which kind of makes it better too. To just go back and watch and remember when you first watched it.

There's always fanfiction. I find that while most of it is bad, it helps to maintain the idea that the show is still around. The fact that it's THERE is a comfort to me.

Just go to inuyasha-fiction.com - it's on the index of this very site. I'm sure you could find some good ones there. I guess there's that new otakufanfic.com too.

Both of them are far better laid out than that ugly fanfiction.net, thanks to our webmaster.

Oh, you mean because I'm a WRITERdeity? lol... I don't know, let's see....

For READING good fanfiction:
1.If a story has "what if" as the two first words in the description, I would leave it alone. AU is fine, but the "what if" should be implied, and if the writer has to spell everything out for the reader, it's not USUALLY a good dialogue between you and your author.
2.Give constructive criticism. If you find yourself reading something that isn't really IDEAL, but you think has a few good points to it, you should review and point out where the author can really make improvements on the plot, characters, description, style, etc. Too often do I see people just squandering a review to say "I like it" or "It sucks" without really taking the time to actually REVIEW.
3.Give encouragement, because sometimes people have AWESOME ideas and they just need to be coaxed out Smile
4.If you find a writer you like, keep following them. They'll probably come out with some better stuff in the future, and maybe even some original work!
5.Write your own!

For WRITING good fanfiction:
1.Get to know your characters and their dialogue as well as possible before just churning something out. Having Miroku say something utterly moronic and swearing off women might be good for an OOC work, but not so much if you're being serious.
2.Write (or compile in your head, whichever works best for you) an outline, because you should at LEAST know where you're going and what your major plot points are before you start.
3.Don't ASK for reviews, because that tempts people to just put down something thoughtless or rude.
4.Try to improve based on the advice you're given, and don't take criticism as a personal affront.
5.For the love of all that is good, whatever you do, DON'T center the story around an original character. It doesn't matter if it's a Mary Sue or a unique person who can be considered a personality for another work of yours. The fanfiction is supposed to mostly be about the characters already established, that's why it's called "fan"fiction. People just get bored if the characters they came to read about are just the side-acts.

I don't know, I'm sure you guys can think of more pointers, but those are all I can think of for now.

Have fun! I think I'll actually go discover some fanfiction over on the two sister sites advertised up front.

Haha, I know how to review fanfiction Smile (basic rule: if it's more good than bad, give your honest opinion, including bad points. If it's more bad than good, pretend you were never there). Writing I haven't really tried yet, thanks for the good advice.

But what I was actually asking is if you could recommend me some stories you think are good. Since I haven't really been looking into it yet and it's hard to start with no clue what to look for.

Or have you never been looking for Inuyasha fanfictions yourself? I thought you might have, since you said you were writing one (if I remember correctly). If not, forget what I said.
