Tsubaki
Character Description:
Tsubaki was originally a good miko (priestess) until the day that Kikyo was given the Shikon Jewel by Tsubaki's master in order to protect it and purify Sango's village. Tsubaki was very jealous and left to visit Kikyo's village where she planned to take the jewel for herself and kill Kikyo.
Tsubaki sent a Shikigami (magic spell) in the form of a snake to curse Kikyo, but Kikyo turned it around, sending it back to Tsubaki. She was bit in the eye, leaving a scar, and then went into hiding for 50 years. She became a dark priestess and absorbed demons to give her life.
She was eventually found by Naraku who promised her the Shikon Jewel in exchange for killing Inuyasha. She attempts this but ends up getting her demons destroyed after trying to put a curse on Kagome to kill Inuyasha.
After Tsubaki escapes she heads back to her childhood village and gets the help of two Miko students to distract Inuyasha while she releases a giant Oni which she absorbs (along with the Jewel) to gain power. After almost being destroyed by Inuyasha's backlash wave, Kagura takes the jewel away from her. Unable to use the jewel, or any demons, to keep her alive she dissolves into dust.
