Mayu
Character Description:
Mayu was a young girl in modern day Japan. She dies hiding in a closet as a fire rages through her family's apartment. When her mother and brother escaped, they did not know she was left behind.
Mayu then becomes a spirit, who wants vengence on her mother and brother because she thinks they did not care about her. Kagome learns this, and tries to prevent Mayu from doing harm to her family.
A Soul Piper (Tatari Mokke - a being which leads children to the afterlife) was going to take Mayu to 'hell', but Kagome helps her realize her error, and she is spared from this.
