His real name is Hachiemon, but Miroku just calls him Hachi.
Character Description:
Hachi is a raccoon demon, who is friends with Miroku. He can transform himself, which while not very powerful, can be useful at times. He is rewarded by Miroku for his help.
Hachi is a tanuki (a tanuki is a raccoon-like animal native to Japan, sometimes called a raccoon-dog). Miroku often gets Hachi to help him scam people to make money and get girls. He is often useful though, as he can change shape and transport others. He once even saved Miroku's life when he was attacked by Mushin.
